Yoda Photobomb

We sent our son to mountain bike camp, in Fairfax this past summer. Freakin' awesome. Where was that camp when I was a kid? Ok, everyday was cycling camp growing up in Marin, but just the same. I would have loved it. So this weekend I took my son back to Fairfax and asked him to show me the trails he blazed this past summer. And that's exactly what we did.

He navigated behind downtown, and found an obscure trail...full of steeps and descents that I was amazed he could ride. There wasn't a steep that stopped him, and any short little hill he attacked so as not to let it get the best of him. On the downhills, he'd call out roots, rocks, drop offs, and would look back to check on me. And that's when it dawned on me. We had switched roles. I couldn't have been more proud of the not so little dude.

If he ever got tired, he didn't show it....and we just kept moving forward wherever our wheels would point us. After finally dropping out of the trails via Phoenix Lake, we circled around the town of Ross for a bit, and then proceeded over to San Anselmo. Along the way, I tried to wager with him, that I could find Yoda and Indiana Jones standing within 10 feet of each other. Although he thought I was messing with him, he knows I only bet money when it's a sure thing.

The Yoda photobomb above will be one of my fav pictures for years to come.Mostly, to remind me of the great ride we had today. It just keeps getting better.
