Sagging Shorts but the Suit Fits

You buy a suit or two and they last for years. At least they are supposed to. As a cyclist I get harassed (you know who you are) by any sign of sagging shorts or leg warmers. It's truly bad form. In my defense I spent a nice sum of money acquiring my tights so that my decision to ride in the morning wasn't dependent upon the laundry being done. However, as I've been riding for years I've lost a few pounds. But the thought of dropping $100 bucks for yet another pair of shorts just doesn't sit right with me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to spend money on cycling. From fashion to technology I have a never ending wish list that I've compiled on Pinterest. I call it my Virtual Cycling Garage.

So I've varied my routine. To compliment my sagging spandex,I've purchased two pairs of outstanding FOX cycling sagging mountain bike shorts. They are my fav clothes du jour. and the sag - well that's cool!. Though I see some roadies wearing road bike versions of mtb shorts and that I don't get. It's like those small BMW crossovers, no bigger than a Honda, less trunk space, and higher in the air for clearance. Functional yes but why? Just break down and get the full saggy mtb short.

Ok fine, I get harassed with this new look as well. I hear "you wore that racing jersey with those shorts?", or "oh I thought we rolled by you for you still had to change before joining us", or the best one when I wore the Dark Stone color (aka Khaki) "hey Mo I thought we were riding not golfing".

I guess it goes to show you. If you are looking for cycling fashion advice I'm happy to share. But you get what you pay for. At least the suit fits. No complaints there.
