Conditioning
I certainly didn't crash out of the Tour de France. But I have my issues. It all boils down to my acceptance of being able to do more than my body is ready for. One may argue that if you can do it, then you are ready. For me it's all about how you feel the next day, or week. Obliterated or not progressing than you were not ready. Which is why I've been inspired by The likes of Froome and Contador. They're out, and they will heal. A friend of mine also crashed out and he's out for a month.
So I've hung up my cleats this week. In their place I've added some simple weights, stretching and rest. With my upcoming vacation I hope to fine tune my internal machine so that I may return to cycling on a more solid foundation. Conditioning over miles has always been my Achilles heel. But no more. For now, I'm on the slow ride. Channel my drive to do more than write a good game. And when I'm back, I'll return with new goals in hand. For now, I look forward to recovery and riding along the beach with my family.
