Cabo Ready

I've been losing weight...on purpose. Yep, gotta get Cabo ready, and don't forget the school's Father Daughter dinner dance. Need to fit into my suit. I don't want my daughter scarred by looking at her dad wearing a suit so tight that it looks more appropriate for cycling. Though I could get away with doing the electric slide in it.  Eating less works of course, and comes at a time when the media is bombarding us with what not to do. Mainly, sugar. Fantastic, I have to eat less, and skip out on sugar as well. Is there no justice out there?

And the more weight I lose, the colder I am at work. Less winter fat makes Mo a cold man. In fact I think I wore a jacket all day. The place is heated so how sad is that? Wonder if it's ok to wear my skullcap while at my desk. I'm in a cube after all, no one is going to see me unless they go out of their way to visit.Though I think my wet clothes sprawled out by the windows in enough to deter most sane people to walking to the end of my aisle. After another stressful day at the office, I left for home. Sure it was getting dark, and rain was threatening, but this time I was ready.

I had a rain jacket was ready for anything mother nature would dish out. Phishhhhhht, fli fli fli fli flap flap flap flap is all I heard after rolling past Pier 39. The all to distinct sound of a flat tire. I quickly assessed the situation and pulled out the largest staple I have ever seen. 2 inches long, with one end that speared my tire and tube to the rim. Checking the time I realized I had just missed the ferry. But I've changed tires so often I knew, since it was a non glass issue, I could rip it out and fix it up in less than 5 minutes. Except of course, for the fact that both of my spare tubes had shorty stems!!! I found this out the hard way as I tried to connect my C02 cartridge. That did nothing for me. My manual hand pump didn't hold any value either. So I hobbled down the road, slowly, on a barely inflated rear tube. Knowing that I'd find a buddy on the later ferry who likely had a tube to lend me.

Rudi was the man of the hour as he lent me his spare tube. If it wasn't for Rude, I would have had to walk about 2 miles in cleats to my car, in the rain and cold. I know I know for someone who rides in temps starting in the high twenties, I complain a lot about the recent cold weather. You gotta let me have that. After all, they already took away my morning sugar. You'll have to excuse me if I'm a bit cranky.
