Certainly nice to be oblivious at times. Please understand I'm not an advocate for obsolescence. But just as I've been guilty of selected hearing, my cycling amigos suffer from another form of denial. It's called I won't get my a$$ out of bed for cycling cause it's winter. Vortex, droughts and the warmest winter weather on record aside I fully get it. Ok I sound bitter but I'm not really. It's the same every year. Cyclists hunker down at the new year and hibernate. It's the off season. Unless you are a pro riding in the land down under you're here sleeping through thunder. Yes I'm generalizing. I just need to remind myself that come spring the bears will awake with a fury. RSVPs will say yes and I'll be there to lead them on.
On the bright side Bryan joined me on my roll through Ocean Beach this morning. No sprinting, no racing, just a ride full of conversation and minimal heart rate. We patted ourselves on the back for the Raiders didn't catch us (we left a few minutes ahead of them). Granted Fridays are their '"slow" days but I digress. After ending a few miles shy of 30 miles, I arrived at work feeling refrehed and ready for the day.
I have a busy weekend ahead. Inbetween basketball games, and installing smoke alarms I have an electric slide dance to learn. Our father daughter dinner dance is coming up and we dads need to be ready. If any video surfaces, I'll post it here.
