I'll simply say that...
a mile is a mile no matter how you spin it. Cycling great distances before work should be applauded. Thankfully, I'm at a point where I can rip out a 50 mile ride on any given day. In fact, I could ride a century on any given day without having to worry about training for it. I'm already ready. I could not have reached such a state if wasn't for this competition, and for that I'm grateful. I've already ridden more than 5,000 miles this year, the furthest I've ever ridden in a single year. The positives far outweigh the negatives.
On the flip side, I can go after some normalcy again. I may even take the ferry to work once in a while but I'll have to start easy. I'll start with once a month. Maybe double that in November. But you'll have to excuse me if I appear grumpy on the ferry. After all, I'd much rather be cycling!
